Our recycled plastics offer significant carbon savings when compared with virgin polymers – at least an 80% reduction in carbon emissions per tonne of product versus oil-based polymers.
Carbon is saved in two ways:
1. Recycling and therefore re-using the material gives enormous energy savings compared with processing virgin plastic from declining global stocks of oil.
2. By processing waste in the UK, close to the waste source, carbon emitted during transportation is reduced and the residues from the recycling process are disposed of responsibly within the UK, rather than exported to a third-world country for disposal into less controlled waste systems.
